During the IR(A) Training stage the pilot learns to fly only using the instruments of the aircraft. It allows pilots to fly without having outside visual references because of bad weather except when landing and taking off. Moreover the instrument rating is one of the most important milestone for an aspiring airline pilot.
Prerequisites
ICAO English level 4 Proficiency or higher
Valid EASA medical class II with “IR Checked” or higher
EASA PPL license or higher with NVFR rating
Minimum 50 hours PIC time
Completed IR(A), CPL(A) or ATPL(A) theoretical exam

30 flight hours on Diamond DA40 equipped with GARMIN G1000
20 hours on FNPT II simulator
